Infinite Warfare
The perfect solution to a 2016 gone mad? Escape to space. COD games are made in 3 year dev cycles, and 3 years ago, the community was 'pro-innovation' (read: go futuristic). But by the time Infinite Warfare was revealed, the community had changed their minds. They didn't want space anymore.
So we leveraged the global sentiment in the second half of 2016 to suggest that leaving Earth might not be the worst idea after all.
With Danny McBride and Michael Phelps on set for the day, we felt it was a miss to not make something of it. So we wrote this the day before we shot. It's the conversation that ensues after the cameo is over – after stealing Phelps' kill, McBride takes the opportunity to teach the most-awarded athlete on Earth how to lose.
